Food Photography: Star Anise

Star Anise

Star anise – Other than yummy food, the aroma of this beautiful star-shaped spice reminds me of drunken nights and hangovers! πŸ˜‰ I love shots of German JΓ€germeister and Italian Sambuca, and both the herbal liqueurs have anise as an ingredient. Star anise has a strong flavour with a sweet liquorice-like aroma and is also used in Asian cooking.

A few pictures of Star Anise.

Ah, star anise. At the end of the meal, I can “deal” with it, but if it’s in the limelight…looks rad though, nonetheless!
