Star anise – Other than yummy food, the aroma of this beautiful star-shaped spice reminds me of drunken nights and hangovers! 😉 I love shots of German Jägermeister and Italian Sambuca, and both the herbal liqueurs have anise as an ingredient. Star anise has a strong flavour with a sweet liquorice-like aroma and is also used in Asian cooking.

Beautiful photos. I love the colour contrast of the brown with the turquoise bowl.
Thanks! 🙂

Just goes to show how simplicity has huge power. Three basic colours and one simple shape and these rock! – Suzan –

Thanks for following Collateral Lettuce, and for liking my post about rasgulla! Which are your favorite mithai?
Ah, star anise. At the end of the meal, I can “deal” with it, but if it’s in the limelight…looks rad though, nonetheless!
Thanks Jonathan 🙂 My favourite mithai would be the milk pedas from Benaras 🙂 Here are some other things I love to eat from India 🙂 – https://colorodyssey.wordpress.com/2013/04/17/flavours-of-india/
